I'm in the market for some tires for my '53 Ford Victoria. I had 215/75r15's on it at one point in time, but they looked way too big. Im considering going down to a 205/70r15. Anyone in here happen to be running this size tire? If so, how do you like it, and does it look too small?
I am. I’d say they’re about the right size if your car is lowered any. The ETs in my pics below are 15x7 standard offset, the chrome reverse are 15x6 reverse offset — all using the same 205-70s. Not that you asked, but the 15x6 reverse fit a bit better than the 15x7s. I’m running a 57 Ford 9”, and even with the outboard side of the rear wheelhouses cut out, the 15x7s rub sometimes.
Very good info. I appreciate it! I used to have 15x7 wheels on my 53, with a 215/75r15 tires and they rubbed all the time at stock height.. Right now I have the stock wheels on it, but am considering going to a 15x6. Much appreciated! Car looks great.
My avatar has 15 x 6’s with 205- 75 in the front and 215-75 in the rear with AeroStars. Nothing hits and I can get them off. I personally don’t like wide tires or rims for that matter. Extra rolling resistance I don’t need.
