This is how I did my padded vinyl top over the Volvo 245 steel roof. First I glued the rubber strip to the channel on the roof, the next day I secured the rubber with 10-15 sheetmetal screws.
Then I glued a 4mm thick EVA foam to the roof and trimmed to the inside of the metalstrip that covers the edge of the vinyl. I stapled the long grain vinyl to a wood frame and laid over the car and stapled it to the rubber strip. Then I cut away the material outside the staples and covered the edge with the metal strip.

Is that the original metal molding around the edge and what rubber insert did you use?
    It sure looks good!

What did you use inside the molding to cover the screws?

Its alive, started up the 34 yesterday no real problems, I really like the Holley fuel managment system and MSD ignition. The sliding glass behind the rear doors are nice I think.

Hi guys its been a long time since I posted anything on Hamb and I dont know why.
Maybe I am not a true Hamber I like modern stuff to much but anyway the car is finished,
I did the first test runs in spring and I had problems with brakes and steering, very important stuff.
I could not get any rear brakes bleeding diffrent ways bench bleeding no brakes just a mushy pedal.
Bought a new chinese Corvette style mster cylinder problem solved.
The next was the powersteering when you made a turn the steeringwheel would not center I had to pull it back. An old manual Vega steering box and the problem was solved, but took most of the summer do do the repairs and have the car checked.
But in august I got the license plates so I could drive the car.
I was not too happy when I got the license plate, the master cylinder and steering box problems gives you a clue.
Well I heve already bought my next project a 1953 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe.
I will install a late 70s Ford style front suspension a mid 90s Ford rearend and a 2007-10 Chevy truck engine and transmission not Hamb stuff.
