Wow, super cool. What a legend! I tried to spend as much time as I could with folks I knew from the WWII generation, including my grandparents, and a few others I had met. Incredible people with a strong spirit of perseverance.
A: I wouldn’t put a Flathead in it because that’s really nostalgia, but there would be no reason to do that, unless you were running in a certain cl***. I don’t know, I would try to come up with something new… Maybe an electric motor? What are people running now? From a man who has seen it all in the hot rod industry; "Maybe an electric motor".
Very cool & thanks for asking my question.........interesting how a 100 year old man/legend thinks that an EV is something nifty. Chris Nelson Kansas
You're pretty blessed @Jive-Bomber to have gotten to speak with Alex and Isky. So great that he took the time to answer a few questions, loved getting to read his answers. Oh and Pendletons are the best. I have quite a few vintage and new ones.
Perhaps because it's actually deja vu being it was already on the drawing board back in the day...waaaaay back when they were very young men...it was just that it was not to be at that time and look at these two fellas. They lived to see it become a reality second time around...off topic for here but they mentioned it in conversation...funny being Go Fast pioneers they may have even considered it back then... I'd like to know if they were aware of this technology that was in use in transportation far earlier than this connection to four wheels much closer to Alex's heyday... @Jive-Bomber thanks for sharing this milestone of greatness with us... I'm thinking he was answering if he built a new hot rod to run at Bonneville. He mentioned running in a cl***, so that makes sense. I should have clarified I meant what motor for something more like a street-driven '32, built for fun.
Absolutely. One my biggest regrets in life is not seeking out more of these hot rod legends when I was younger, asking them questions, checking out their cars, etc.
