Hi all, New to the forum having recently purchased a ‘32 hi-boy Roadster. It’s running a ‘40 Ford rear end but due to the rake of the car it’s suffering from the old problem of oil running down the torque tube when parked before depositing itself on the ground! I’ve read past threads on a baffle that was produced that fitted in the diff end of the torque tube but it appears it’s no longer available. Anyone know of any other solutions? Many thanks!
Thanks for that. I’m pretty sure I saw something saying Vern stopped making them. I’ve dropped him a message. Forgot to mention I’m in the UK.
The baffle you show will overflow and then the fluid can't return to the differential. I bought a baffle from Bruce's Rod Shop as shown.
Thankyou! Tried their website and it just hangs so couldn’t find the baffle. Will try again on the computer when I get home.
If you have access to machining, you could make this piece. I dont think this company is around anymore. http://www.seabrighthotrods.com/?p=522 clever solution that i would like to try someday.
Radish, Read this entire thread that contains more great info. on Bruce's baffle. Perhaps the fellow who posted will sell you his baffle if he doesn't reuse it. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308176&highlight=1939+ford&page=4 Also, read all this: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193513&highlight=torque+tube+baffle
