I like the black and red scheme. But, the red on the hood looks outta place. Looks great on the side of the car. Maybe some traditional pinstriping on the nose or top of the fenders or something instead...

    Kool car man!

When I was a kid, I used to walk by one of these everyday goin' to school. Always dug that car. Then one day.....gone. Don't know whatever happened to it. It was white with red interior...

yeah I was trying to follow the lines in the hood, but it seems a little forced, and I was thinking pinstripes the whole time, but can't do it on photo shop. And the colors I'm going for are a tone on tone dark, dark, dark German Chocolate w Salmon, gotta pay tribute to the heritage.

Personally I love the stock beige color. If it were mine, I'd repaint the stock color and drive the shit out of it. That's a bitchin' lookin' Buick.

Of course you could do a splash graphic a or a tri-color ZIZZ-ZIZZ stripe with a hugh hic-up in the middle.:D

    It's a neat car!

The side coves are ok, but the color on the hood looks a little out of place. If it were mine, I'd think of maybe doing the stock color with black side coves and a black interior.

Defintly no on the orange on the hood or the sides, but I like the idea of black and another color. Orange does not look right on the car to me. I'd look at what was origninally available on the car and go with a color close to one of those original colors. Black over cream or black over a dark red would look good IMO.

  8. Definitely a "no" on the hood, but a "yes" on the rest of it.

vw had a paint scheme on the bus that used chestnut brown and sealing wax red, then you could pay your heritage tribute out a little more personal. or just repaint the stock color. it looks cool with the black wheels

Black and Orange just days Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat to me ... I have to agree with the simple color statements - maybe I'm just reading your photochop wrong, but I think the car's lines and presence speak so loudly, they would lose something being drowned in garish paint colors.

Yes to the side treatment - No to the hood. Black and red is always a good combo.

    B. Willie Kool,

 Every reply to your post is right, lose the orange paint on the hood. The car looks way cool in black and orange, I really liked the beige with the primer showing through. Cool look either way!

It was a trick question there is only one way to do it, the right way!

If I buy it I'd probably just chop it if possible, maybe get someone good to lead in some Lincoln Zephyr head light lenses and drive it.

Although I would like to use the color scheme and :
&chrome swoosh on a model A,niclke plate everything, put in tuck and roll ostrich interior and sell it to some rich guy at Barrett Jackson.

I don't want to rain on your parade but, the hood looks like a red breasted blackbird. Just my opinion. Like all say on this board if it looks good to you screw everyone else. Keith in Missouri

It wasn't exactly a trick question, I went to Lemays and saw a bunch of cool old stuff from the 20's and 30's then my lil'l bro got me blazed as hell.

"Sporty" colors like bright reds and orange shades seem to remove some of the bulk in the car's design. The simple addition of a pearl in the clear adds very little cost and only one extra step. So with that thought in mind, try reversing the colors, leave out the hood gig (looks like an after-thought), I'm thinking 60's Hugger orange/Carousel Red, paint the cove a deep rich chocolate brown with plenty of "red tone" to it vs an earth tone variety, add gold pearl to the orange. Chrome reverse wheels and some complimentary pinstriping finish the look. A clean off white and rich brown interior with matching orange piping might finish the inside, or perhaps an orange 1" pleat dividing the 2 interior colors if the piping seems too much...it might be.

Then again it does look kool right now too.
