I would like to say hello to every one, I am new to this site, what I have seen so far,is amazing all you guys really come tgeather to help out each other, I hope I will be able to help anser some quetions, that may be helpful on this site, I was told that maybe some one here, could help me with my problem, so here it is I have a pile of parts I have been collecting over some time now, parts include 303 olds block weiand drag star 6x2 intake, 97 strombergs, Howard aluminum 303 rods, jahns pistons, and a -ronco magneto, hildebrandt valve covers, and thats about it im trying to stay with all the old scool stuff, I was wondering how I would go about using all this in a combo that would make great horsepower? Still have crank to buy, heads, and other internal/external parts. I was reading that you could take 324 heads, and put them on a 303 to get great power, but don’t know if my intake would still work? i am going to be putting this motor in a 29 roadster. How would you go about building a 303 motor from the ground up ? thanks -Josh

Sorry about not putting my intro in the right section, i see where i do that now, and i will fill out a little bit about my self there, as for parting with some of my olds stuff im a packrat, so i most likely wont anytime soon,
as for the trans i think im going to stick with a lasalle, i here they are one of the better trans to go with, but i dont understand ? will they only bolt up to such a year olds ? or would i just be better of to find a interdapt housing to mate the two ? i still have ton's and tons to learn about olds, but im loving every minute of it, I have to thank Bobert for telling me about this site thanks Bob,

Welcome to the hamb, always good to here from another Rocketeer. Thats an amazing collection of parts you have there, If you can find some 1956 324
heads, there the ones to use , they have "10" cast on the center exhaust ports. Good luck.
    Cheers Dago :)

    hey 303 racer.
i'll keep a look out for your progress, i'm in the same boat.
    i've got a 303 and a la salle too.
i'm still in the collecting process on the truck it will go in.
but i've squirreld away some nuts and going to try and find a good place to rebuild the olds soon.

i just need to get my only car on the damn road first, so i can go chasing parts and the such.

good luck and keep us posted.

Google Gene Adams and follow the trail to his 303 dragster. gene and his brother are nice guys and if you ever get to find them they will answer allyour questions. Use the Rocketeer archives herein too. And welcome.
