So the input shaft/clutch gear - item 8 in the attached... Has chipped teeth on the small gear that engages with the sliding drum...

I've looked in all my usual places (Ebay, Forum cl***ifieds, etc) and very few parts or even whole transmissions are available. Seems like the old 3 speeds just get thrown away when people do T5 or Automatic swaps... so does some guy just have a bunch of old 3 speeds in a barn somewhere?

I'm in Austin, Texas - anybody coming to Lone Star Roundup with Muncie 318 parts?
    Thx
    Jim

We specialize in early Ford transmission parts so we can’t help you with this one. Try Northwest Transmission Parts here in Ohio. They have a website but you’ll probably need to call them on this. Try to have the model and year of the transmission (and the tooth count) ready when you call them.

Thanks @Mac VP. I will give them a call.

Did further diagnosis/teardown today, and I also need a counter shaft and countershaft gear... Someone ran this trans low on oil and the countershaft didn't like it. The mystery is the 48-54 Truck shop manual shows needle bearings on both ends of the countershaft (and there were some 0.125 rollers in the bottom of the case), but the gear looks like it was designed for press it bronze bushings - but the bushings weren't lined up with the oiling holes in the shaft.
Doesn't matter - it's all toast - unless someone has replacement bushings that press into the gear.

And - the spacer tube/crush sleeve for the speedo gear was also missing - which explains why the speedo never worked... someone really screwed this box up...

Here's an updated exploded view - this seems to match the trans in my 50 3100 truck. The diagram shows needle bearings for the countershaft - but mine had bushings inside the gear. (That doesn't explain why there were 0.125 dia needles in the bottom of the case - unless it was a real sloppy rebuild last time)... very possible given they competely left out the speedo gear spacer...
I need 17 speedo gear spacer , 26 countershaft & 28 countershaft gear. The tooth count on my gear is 27 bottom, 14 middle, 22 top. Thanks to everyone that has PM'd - I've sent this info direct to you as well.
Ooops - forgot I need item 6 too - the input shaft (they call it the clutch gear) Mine is rough, could be used - but teeth are chipped
I appreciate it - the truck is stuck on a 4 post lift in my neighbor's driveway - he'd probably like it gone ASAP.

Northwest is the company that should have what you need. Might want to speak with John as he is fluent with older standards.
