Do you have an old Mallory Distributor Catalog? I picked up an old Mallory Dual Point and it says Model: YCM Type: 116 FL Anyone know what this fits? (I'll gladly buy a reprint of an old chart for these things- I pick up Mallorys all the time cause they "look right" for my car, but they never fit!) Thanks, jay
Crazy part is that its for an 8 cylinder- It has a short shaft and a blade type of drive gear (similar to early "dogbone" Cad 331 distributor), but its to skinny in the shaft to be Cadillac. jay
Have you tried contacting this dude? mmancini@vintageignition.com He's a HAMBer and goes by VintageIgnition. Here's his intro: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68815 And his beating: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68792
If you don't find an answer before I get home this evening, I'll look in my old Mallory catalog some more and see if I can find other 116 listings.
Thanks Heathen- I looked through Old Honest Charley and Almquist catalogs, but they use their own part #s. jay
Are you SURE that thing is an 8 cylinder distributor? Could it just be that someone stuck an 8 cylinder cap on it? I've found several applications for a 116 distributor, but they're all foreign and for 4 or 6 cylinder engines. Besides Volvo, I've found listings for Triumph, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, and everything that came with an Austin A-40 engine in it.
Hi, The distributor you have is very scarce and fits 1953-1956 Dodge Truck 350 cubic inch V8 engines. Thanks Mike
