This was a post I did a while back,,,HRP http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277993&highlight=door+32
What most people miss is that The SlantWindow Fordor is almost the same as a Vicky, just has 4 doors. I've built 2 SW's, and they turn out real nice. Just remember, no one repop's the subrails, and very few patch panels are availble, so most will have to be made. But they do really stand out, even in a crowd of 'A's.
Thanks for the input guys, great photo's. I have a 1931 Model A 160B that is about to morph into a hot rod. I am having a chassis built to be a driver (no photo's yet, just a pile of parts and two sticks of two by four tubing). As soon as there is something worthy to look at I will start a little thread on the build. Thanks H.A.M.B. Rick.
Just bumping to see if a few more photo's turn up. Mottsrods, do you have any photo's of the one's you built? Thanks HAMB, RIck.
Johnny-B-Bad, that is a good looking car. Fordor's with Fenders do not seem to be popular at rod runs and car shows. I have one of these and am planning a build. At first I was not to keen on the car....but, it seems to grow on me more and more. Thanks for posting. Rick.
Those slants look pretty good being hotrodded. Has any one ever noticed that the rear quarter windows are bigger than a non slant 4dr? Even the back window is different size size than the non slant 4dr.
Oliver Bros Garage, that is so true, even the hinge pins are a different size. Practicaly nothing is the same as the other Fordor Model A's. I have one and plan to build something simular to the first photo. Thanks for the input. Rick.
Mottsrods. I recieve the PM, THANKS in andvance, Guys like you here on the HAMB, willing to help a nobody, Very Cool. Rick.
S/W Deluxe town sedans are cool cars and nicely proportioned because of the lower roof line. The first one you showed is very cool! Here's what's left of my Slant Windshield Fordor... It's missing a couple doors... By the way, patch panels are available for them, but the bead is just ever so slightly different than stock. It's not quite as round. The real key is to pay for the newer cowl panels that are out, not the cheaper ones. They are more accurate to the shape of the cowl than the cheaper versions that are half the cost.
WOW, just WOW. Scooter that is rad, of all the many altered sedans on the HAMB, YOURS has the best lines by far (I.M.H.O.)...WOW. Rick.
Dude! Me too! Fighting with the Hemi right now. Have SNAFU. Working through it. Thanks for the words Rick! If you want to see the build up there's a bunch of threads on it. Do an advanced thread title search for "modified murray".
OK. I thought I would bump this again, it has been a while so maybe a few "new" pic's or idea's will pop up. Thanks for the patch panel info Scooter... Thanks to the H.A.M.B. Rick.
Thanks Scooter, what company (the good ones) do you use for patch panels. I will at some point need door and cowl panels, any one else want to chime in with ideas? Thanks Again Guys. Rick.
Hey guys! Glad I found this thread! Here’s my slant post fordor project. Bought the complete, stock car and the built chassis separately. I’ll be making a few changes to the chassis to better suit my tastes, but it’s not far off. I’ll be needing back panel and rear corner patches (if someone makes them).
