Thank you what year was this made? The pinion nose or support bearing OD is 2.045 and shaft OD on the housing is 3.122 or that's my telescopic gauge reading and don't have a inside micrometer that can reach it. A few more pics

Looks like that is a ball bearing case.

Cool do you know the reason to make both? Or is one early production and one later? Thank you for all the help John

The ball bearing case came first. Halibrand later offered a O.D. ground tapered roller bearing race. In 1985 they started boring the cases for the standard roller race.
I believe the original thought was to reduce bearing drag by using the ball bearings.

would be interested in a set of your proposed side plates if you get the number of orders.

Are you still taking orders for side plates? My center section is a Halibrand 12 bolt.

Yes, I have 12 bolt plates. I am out of 11s right now. I may not make more depending on the price of the castings.

I quit building champ QC'c at least 8 years ago. I found there was so little demand. I guess you do OK. A friend has a Halibrand 12 bolt magnesium bare case. He asked me to look out for a pair of side plates. What's the best you could do shipped to 28027?
