    Does anyone have any pictures or tips for installing the beltline trim? I have a 50 Fleetline and the trim is from the same year Pontiac streamliner. I have some of the original clips from the Pontiac but I am not really sure how they attached originally, they are completely different from the Chevy trim. Any Pontiac guys out there with some tips? Should I just use some 3m trim tape and call it good?

    Post some pictures of the Chev clips and the Pontiac clips. Then you will get some answers.

    I put 54 Chevy trim on my 50 when I had it , and I used flat head carriage bolts like this from Home Depot .

    I got a size that fit into the channel on the back of the trim and bolted it on.

    bit of a pain in the ass but it worked

    go to your local automotive paint supply store and they will have a variety of clips in many different configurations. maybe bring the trim with you and mark where the trim clip holes are since that trim gets wide in the middle.

    There are all sizes of spring style clips for the width of the slot. Make sure you put them in the correctly. The end ones at the door edge are usually different since they must have less room. Asan example a 56 Ford Fairlane has 5 different widths on the door.

    Ok, I am back with pictures. The beltline sheet metal is raised where the trim is like this;

    For the original chevy trim a metal piece is screwed to the car and the trim fits tightly around it.

    The pontiac trim uses 3 clips instead

    Can anyone tell me how these clips attach to the body? Do you think trim tape will work? Any other ideas? Thanks.
