    I built my re-creation of a 1932 Studebaker Indy car using 90-fin drums from late '60s Buicks. The ch***is and aluminum body were built from scratch, engine is a 250 cu in Studebaker flathead straight 8 with four Stromberg EX-23 carbs. A number of people commented to me that the Buick drums didn't have the correct 1930s look, and they were right. I had Typecast Ltd. in England make a set of aluminum drums with iron liners to the basic dimensions of the Buick drums but with fins that run around the cir***ference of the drum. Bolt pattern is 5-on-5", 1/2" lugs. I've got '67 Riviera backing plates in the front, turned 90 degrees so the wheel cylinders clear the knuckles on my big solid axle. In the rear, the backing plates are from a 1961 Invicta, but also use the aluminum drums. Shoes are stock Buick. The custom hubs are 72 mm size Rudge design with 112 splines and knock-off spinners. Now the drums look right, though they were not cheap and took 4 months for delivery. Typecast also has a design for a narrower 12" Buick drum without the lip of the 90-fin drums.

    One cool car. Impressive that you could get the drums that soon and had the inspiration to do so.

    That nails the look perfectly.
    You may have just started a new and potentially popular line of drums for them.

    They show a listing for Chevy Cheetah front and rear drums. Cheetahs used 1963 Corvette heavy duty drum brakes.

    Hey, Gary;
    Glad you showed up here n posted. I'd bet a copy of your build thread would go well here. For those that haven't seen this "in the tin", you could spend close to a whole day eyeballing(& trying not to drool) over the details. Sounds good, too... :D .

    Everybody got it right. This is a beautiful achievement.
    Since you are open to comments,,, consider that the road warriors of the era ran the head lamps higher up. In my very humble impression.
    I love what you have created.
    My skills are not even skills, compared to your artwork.
