Years ago I bought a 327 that supposedly only needed a set of rings. Got it home, started tearing it down, found a crack that looked almost just like that. It was hidden by the motor mount and I didn’t see it until I pulled the head. Got a good crank, rods and pistons out of the deal, block was toast....

The cad drawing you used to lay out the lifter keeper was very helpful and kept everything nice, straight and neat!

The 350 in my 56 from my son's 70 Camaro is similar to that. It has holes on p*** side but not the driver side.

What I can see of the casting number on back of block looks like a 67 350 3932442 . I have never seen one without the holes drilled.

No I just ***embled this. It's a .030 over 283. Believe the suffix was FG, don't remember. It was the original engine in Kevin's Camaro when he bought it around 1990, he built a big block for it, and fortunately for me he kept the 283.

The full size cars in the 60's had threaded holes in front of the block, only on the left side for mounting a PS bracket. As Guthrie stated, grease on the pump rod is the only way to hold it in as far as I know.
I noticed some discussion of using the 30-30 cam. If you have an automatic transmission, go to a very loose converter and low gear in the rear end or the car will be a slug.

I just use the fuel pump lever and a flick of the wrist to move the rod up and slide the lever under the rod. ;)
