I bought a wiring harness from Lectric Limited for my '58 Impala and have these 3 wires that appears to be for the resister. The Tan colored wire is from the ignition switch but am unsure where the two Aqua colored wire connects to. Thinking one connects to top spade on the resister and the second wire connects to the bottom spade? Comments plz.
Look at wires going to starter solenoid. The “R” runs up to the ballistic resistor and is in use while cranking. It sends 12 volts to the coil the dies off when engine starts. The wire color might answer your question.
NO clue on your harness You should have a wire from the lower resister to the coil check if one of your wires is hot when the switch is only in the start position that one will also go to the coil as for the other wire no clue maybe tach??. https://www.bing.com/images/search?...afQEVCwBb3A4AQ&pid=ImgRaw&r=0&sres=1&sresct=1
Well I was burned out yesterday trying too hard as to why the motor wouldn't start. This morning with a good night sleep and fresh mind I back tracked and traced the wires using a multi-meter from under the dash to those two Aqua colored wires. Sure enough, one should of plugged into the top spade of the resister and the second plugged to the other spaced. Problem solved. Now I'm getting closer to getting this 20 yr project back on the road for the wife.
