Would love to know where these came from. I'm considering turning a 2 door sedan into a woody wagon and these look like good articles.
I owned this woodie twice . before me was don smith and boyd coddington. it was boyds shop truck. don smith bought it and took the sbc out and put in a full tilt flatty with a c-4. it was a quality top shelf build built by kirk at the woodie works in cincy.i drove it with the flathead in it for a few years sold it bought it back and put the sbc back in before I sold it the second time
I built this woodie from a 37 4 door sedan body I had. fun car but no where near the quality build that my 29 was that kirk built from the woodie works in cincy
Has anyone gotten anywhere on the projects ,been along time since anyone has posted, Iam thinking about making a woodie out of a 1934 plymouth.
That is something like I am thinking about building based off a Model T or A cowl and windshield frame. I just can't locate the parts to get started at an affordable price. I was thinking Continental flat head 4 or 6. I'd like to use the supercharged 90hp Conti from the Kasier-Fraser cars.
I will send you some photos, the only original parts of the 29 are the windshield frame and cowl. I don't believe it's possible to build anything cheap. I didn't build mine and I'm a good wood worker but it looks complicated. My email is daveplumley@rocketmail.com, will be the easiest way for me to send pics, send me a test note.
This one too! Not even Ford sheet metal (except for readily available fenders, running boards and splash aprons and splash shield)...could be built on an”A” frame though...like the tall top too!
That is a Dodge cowl/hood/rad shell and Ford 28/29 fenders, probably frame. I remember it from magazines, maybe Rod & Custom. IIRC it belonged to Mike Chiavetta.
I have a question, on how is the wood attached to the floor pan,and is there a sealer used ,between the two surfaces .?
Sorry I took so long to get back here. Thanks for the offer. I have my plan for the wood body panels over a steel cage.
