Right on cue the normal Jefferson hydration has arrived. Hopefully not too many mud puddles form for the rest of the weekend. Stay high and dry !
Sometimes you just get lucky. I set up on Thursday then went for a walk to see the other vendors parts. With several hundred acres to cover the chance of walking into exactly what you need is slim. Yet that is exactly what happened. I needed front bucket seats for my 66 Chevelle. They have steel back co ers that are usually dented. There is no release button to fold them. They are usually found without the seat tra ks. They are selling for a grand complete these days. Yet here they were in great shape and complete for 500.00 i couldn't belive it. It was sunny and warm Thursday. Then cold and rainy on friday. Yet there was still a big crowd of buyers. I did very well. Today its going to be 75 and sunny. Typical wisconsin spring weather.
Forgot to mention...Jefferson County Fair Grounds is a complete CLUSTER F. With all the money these shows generate for the Jefferson County Fair Grounds, and the City of Jefferson, you would think they could cover some of the mud silt with some crushed stone or what not. UNPHUCKINGBELIEVABLE!
Why change a good ( for them,) thing ,been that way since forever ! Still a fun time , dress accordingly , watch the weather . Wonder how many tons of straw went on the parking lot ?
Isn’t Jefferson where years ago they put down wood chips to help control the mud? After a big rain all the chips floated around and made more of a mess than the mud made. It sure looks like the Helimunga river was overflowing at this weekends event.
Look at the bright side, it wasn't snowing. Between the mud and no cell phone reception I knew I was safe away from the wife, no way she was going to go looking for me.
Even in the driving wind and rain i sold a few grand. I found several rare parts i needed.i made my usual stops at the the towels guys and others. The camper worked perfect. Guys have gotten soft being able to sit at their computer in their underwear ordering parts.
