Yes, Mustang radiator and shroud and a 7 blade clutch fan. Radiator is mounted in front of the core support instead of behind it. And I had to cut out part of the splash pan to clear the radiator and A/C condenser.

It is ironic how many of use used the oval type air cleaner, I had planed on using the original air cleaner but it just didn't look right, the oval air cleaner is pretty reasonable, I think or was about 55 bucks when I bought it but that was 10 years ago. HRP

Shortshift, can you tell us more about your steering conversion? Maybe open a thread about it?

Okiedokie… is your Bendix vacuum ***ist on on the front brakes? It appears that way. Are they front discs? I’ve seen this on thunderbirds done by Prestige T-Bird in Calif. I do not see a prop valve.. Very clean installation.

Yes only the front brakes are boosted. Prop valve is mounted on the frame. Thanks for the compliment.

How do they feel? Meaning nose dive if heavy braking. Did you need to add a lot to the rear thru the prop valve? Just wondering. We had this system on a 55 when new but it had a single MC and worked great then.

They work good, no nose dive, did not add a lot to the rear.

Given that it's a '65 or '66 289 that's been in there since 1980 or so, I've always been partial to the Cobra-style valve covers with the black wrinkle-paint finish and the '65-style Moostang open element air cleaner. My next project should be to get the Fairlane radiator swapped out with a '55-'56-style one that I picked up at a swap meet last fall and get an external transmission cooler.

Do you have any notes or photos of the installation process that would help me to avoid any issues in advance. I am planning on installing a 351 Cleveland with a T5 transmission in my 1955 this summer. Thanks,

Driver side header is the only problem I ran in to. I have stock steering box, etc. I made a custom set on the side - almost any p***enger side blears. I used prothane mounts. elongate the holes in the engine mount bracket on the frame. Set the motor back as far as you can to allow room for mechanical or elec. fan and radiator. All else is same as a small black.

Thanks 50sboy , this information helps me , I plan to install a 2 barrel head Cleveland that will be a daily driver . I have a 4 barrel head Cleveland that is scheduled to go in my 40 coupe and I have sanderson headers for that install.
    Thanks Again

A 55 may be different, but I used 1969/1970 Fairlane long tube headers when putting the Cleveland in my 58.

I think the same year Mustang used the same headers as well.

Here are a couple of pics of my 330 stroker Yblock. first painted in Daytona yellow, but changing body color and the burnt copper would go better with the deep metallic green I now plan on. Almost ready to plant in newly blasted/painted frame.

    Hi Paul,
which 4 speed transmission and length did you install ? I have a 4 speed out of a falcon that is shorter than the toploader 4 speed I have with is 27" +or - to put in my 55 customline with y block 272 . The driveshaft is my concern , I have a 86 crown vic driveshaft that I can use if it is the right length.

Since one has shown a dual quad Y-Block I’ll post mine. All evidence removed from the manifold manufacturer, 2 matched Carter WCFB small base carbs and the Purolator NASCAR mandated air cleaner for 1956. Dual quads were available in 1956 as a performance kit at Ford approved parts counters for law enforcement and racing; 103 kits were known to be made for all use. The p***enger car/Thunderbird air cleaner was different. Mercury’s were known to use their CARTER WCFB carbs. They’ve been on 7 trouble free years and checked every 18 months or so with my Unisyn. Mated to a 1962 medium case Cruise-O-Matic and 8.8 Explorer rear ended. 1CBE9D2F-C71D-459E-A339-411D8F401888.jpeg BBA17F09-7F48-416E-8534-BA2CB6F74766.jpeg
