Hey all, I have this 59 2 dr i'm beginning to tear down and was curious if anyone knows if this body/interior color combo was a factory choice? It seems like an odd combo with green interior and white/bronze exterior but looking closely it doesnt appear to be a repaint (color change), maybe it was an original color?. I'm going to start restoring the interior soon and debating my plan of attack here... Leave it factory (if indeed it is) inside and out. Keep exterior and change interior ( there are a lot of great parts inside so i would hate to change them to be honest) Keep interior and change exterior. I do like both colors individually but still not sure what i think of them as a combo. maybe if i see a restored version to give me a different view.
There were some interesting color combos. This 56 Merc 2dht project car here was born black and yellow on the outside with an aqua/green interior. Didn't look that bad. Have seen tri-5 Chevs with similar combos. The Merc will become aqua and white inside and out. Best of luck with yours. Ned
Go to the vin tag on driver door under the windshield. My 56 told me paint and interior color. I believe the 59 did also. Pretty ez to look up on the net today.. Exterior paint are letters
Like @jimmy six says, the vin tag will tell the story, but it appears to be Tahitian Bronze and Colonial White over a Green interior. I believe this combination to be factory original.
