Many years ago a guy here in PDX had a dark green deuce hiboy roadster, in a 50's style theme.
Saw it parked, hood closed, just figured it had a flathead, then he opened the hood, wow, 265 power, like it was just pulled out of a new 55 (210,wink, wink).
Man I loved that car, even asked if it might be for sale, nope, just finished and still sorting and enjoying it he said, oh yeah, did I say it was fibergl***, I couldn't tell but I sure thought it was a Henry. (I looked close when he was away), I think it was a Wescott body.

The ‘slippery slope’ has started, and have already found most of the parts to install it.
Keeping it stock, 162hp, external oil filter, oil bath air cleaner and painted valve covers.
Just like some kid could have pulled it from a junkyard in the mid-‘50’s.

What a find, the paint condition is really amazing for the age.
265 swap - I don't know if I could resist a cam swap:D, love that it's fully dressed out as stock.

Well, for now I’m going stock 265, but just bought a ‘57 283 long block from a friend with a 30/30 cam, and Fuelie heads for a ‘backup’!!!

The steel under the flaking lacquer is shiny steel that I’m going to treat and leave alone.
Funny story, when I got the car you could barely push the clutch in.
Eli took the 11’ truck clutch out and put a p***enger one in, but it was not much better.
Then an old friend came by, sat in the car with the trans tunnel out, and immediately said, ‘you’ve got a ‘39 clutch arm, and you need a ‘32-‘33 that’s 2” longer’, and it now works like a charm.

A slight m***age of the firewall will be needed for the distributor. E0D4C7E4-CD03-47DE-9255-B2845EB262F5.jpeg 6C16AD14-9194-4374-91E9-E3AC4DA1EA64.jpeg 338C7D32-5C3F-4E56-8FA9-2BD4587F0B91.jpeg

    Al, another thumbs up!
Those belhousing bolts don't look like they're from 1955 though.;)
They sort of resemble a Supertanium bolt (very high grade and collectable) but I can't see the logo on the head.

  20. Funny thing about the bolts, it's not often that you see that top one in use. Like everything about this build!

A little slice & dice on the firewall will allow it to fit w/o splitting the wishbone. 6FB3B47B-1DB6-4A8F-9516-0023148FAD70.jpeg ED9F8D26-546B-4159-87D2-B48A948B48ED.jpeg EF310222-58A3-4026-8497-FAD5FD15D9F8.jpeg

Eli ***ures me they make a short plug that will fit.
Otherwise, I’ll have search for the very rare, 90* angled plug!

I did not know such devices exists...must be engineerings fault,...:p...I like to blame them alot...but yeah all the visual check points...could you shift the engine .5 to .75 inches to the right and eat a few more fries to balance things out...:)...on a serious note you may be able to do that as @Marty Strode mentioned it as an option in another build query...
