Pat Ganahal's Rod And Custom has a good article about the history of the Hallock windshield posted on his blog today. Very interesting.
It was very interesting. I’ve always been curious about the use of boat windshields on early hot rods and if they were the inspiration for the Hallock windshield
I too am a subscriber to "Pat Ganahl's ROD & CUSTOM" Blog (or as @pgan calls it, his "column") ... and every week, I anxiously await his latest installment. Although not all of Pat's columns are "HAMB-friendly," I suggest that all HAMBers also "subscribe" to it as it's always a great read ... and it's FREE As @krylon32 noted, Pat's post for today is a very interesting read ... and "HAMB-worthy" ... check it out: THE DUKE HALLOCK STORY May 2, 2022 This is not only a story about the famous, rare, and sometimes misrepresented Duke Hallock V-windshields for Model A roadsters, but it is also a graphic story of hot rod evolution. : : : That leaves a whole lot of Lost Hot Rods. It’s a topic I love. But it’s a sad ending to this story.
Pat writes good stories, because he has walked the walk, and talked the talk. He knows what he is writing / talking about. Thanks Pat for your time and effort to enlighten us.
I just went there and instead read the story of his '48 Chevy. That thing reminds me of my old Holden project.
Great info as always Pat. This as many know is Jack Underwood and his amazing roadster. Any idea who made his windshield ??
those windshields what ever name they go by for me are one of those modifications that i don't think they are an improvement over a stock chopped windshield, they do look good on the old wooden speed boats though

I didn't realize that the original Hallock w/s frames were cast of bronze. I had only seen the later aluminum ones.
