Finally got shoulder hoops cut to width with sleeve put in. All level to zero. Main frame rails next when they show up. 20220309_220301~2.jpg 20220309_143121~2.jpg

This was once Bill Traylor's "Animal," AA/FC with a blown Chrysler. Bill sold it to Roy Wirts who dropped this fuel Chevy in it, and changed the color from candy red to candy blue. It went off the end of the track on one run, injuring the driver, and sadly, the remains of the car were scrapped.

This was once the Thayer and Trobee competition coupe, with a blown Chrysler. Norm Weekly and Ron Rivero bought it, as their first drag car. That's Ron in the driver's seat, and Norm at right. They would later team up on a fuel dragster, and even later team up with Dennis Holding and Jim Fox to become the "Frantic 4." Here is the Thayer & Trobee car at Pomona: thayer trobee.jpg

  8. My buddy Doug Wood put this one together for exhibition runs and cackle fest. He just got back from Gainesville Fl with it. If you look back in the original rules, the driver must be in the body.
I have failed on that part as a lot of the new ones I see have done. :(
So at this point it makes it a little tough to prosed but it is what it is and I have made the first cut.
Something tell me it will be just as fun and with hope a crowd pleaser. :)

Trunk is part of the body to me. Very cool build you have. Besides what made this class so cool to me was the diversity. So that's keeping it real IMO.

I know I saw a body section with a white wall slick, now it's gone. What happened?
