I've got a 1955 Coronet I'm working on getting started again. But I can't properly identify the relay or power distribution block for replacement (see attached pics). What would their proper names be and where might I purchase them?

Also, did this car come from the factory as a positive to ground system?

Looks like as easily sourced horn relay. The terminal block could be reused. Squirt some penetrating oil on the nuts first.

Ok, goldmountian, you helped unlock the mystery. If that's a horn relay, then I have two horn relays. One for the original horns and one for some aftermarket long tube horns. What still baffles me is I can't find that original 4 post horn relay anywhere online. The aftermarket one is a 3 post, and it is easily found online.

As for the terminal block, I didn't realize I could reuse it after some reconditioning. I figured there would be enough corrosion in parts I can't clean to make it usable. I'll give your advice a go.

That is the starter relay..... Not horn.

I get you’re just trying to start it. But I’d run new jumpers to what I needed to start it. And disconnect the existing harness-no power at all. If the whole harness is in the condition of what you’ve shown it might start and burn down at the same time

Could be the starter relay. Trace the wires. If one goes to the neutral safety switch, it is a starter relay.

This looks like the starter relay for cars that are automatics....They were common on Mopar stuff thru the 70's....

Purchase a Classicwiring.com for it. Laminated, in color with all original colors. A great troubleshooting tool.
