My model building ended at about 12 when a local bowling alley installed a couple commercial slot car tracks...I was hooked...that's where all my "paper route money" went til I was about 16. slot.jpg

I love building model kits and have been for a little while. All the 23-39 Fords made me wanna buy a hot rod. Here’s a big deuce that’s basically complete. I think the 60s show cars were some of the coolest. DEF5C637-C801-47FB-844D-888B5DB744DF.jpeg

My coupe reminds me of the models I built as a kid. As a matter of fact it is only a little bit bigger than some of those models...........

My first model kit was a 1963 Comet by AMT. It was my trophy for winning the Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby. That model was the start of my 1/25 scale Hot Rod hobby. I have been building on and off ever since.

Sixty3, all the contests I worked gave new kits as prizes, biased towards the younger entrants, for exactly the reason you stated. Hook 'em.

This kit with the Latham supercharger on the Lincoln engine inspired me but it took over forty years before I found the right Latham for my current build

These definitely influenced my hot rod life from age seven on up till I could drive. Now have my two grandsons chipping away at ones I never got around to building, plus a few new reissues of their own : 3107C7B9-FF40-4EB7-BB2C-18F84F987B01.jpeg 3EB07C64-55A1-40AC-AAE0-9030DBAAC880.jpeg
