Hot Rods Sbc c1962 water pump?

    ok I have a “one size fits all” new pump. As far as I can remember the circled mounts are for later things? what for and Ok to cut off and re polish ? (No I don’t have an old one to look at)

    that's a "long" water pump, from 1969-later. It's not a 1962 style pump, which is shorter. Make sure it'll fit in your vehicle, and that you understand how the accessory brackets are different, and the pulleys are different, for the two styles. The original brackets for the alternator and power steering pump use those holes to mount.

    that long pump will be way out of alignment for your lower crank pulley. Probably, even more so because of the thickness of that fan pulley on the water pump.
