today at the vhra hotrod races on Pendine Sands in Wales

 

Anyone know the location of this car? It was in the Charlotte/Gastonia NC area 20 years ago. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Above ... Kool Merc but odd that it has door handles

 

I actually really like the refrigerator style handles on a '49, that's a 1 year only thing. If I was starting with a '49 I'd have a hard time shaving those, too.

 

I’m more upset about it not having skirts!

 

I hadn’t talked myself out of using door handles on my Merc. Lot of kool door handles. (Tbird ‘50 Olds) For the guys that drive them a lot they sure are handy…. Lol!

 

Those '49 handles are pretty fragile. 50% of mine are currently working.

 

And the top comes off? Yes?

So here is one of the winers at the Sydney Hot Rod Show. Drove up from Melbourne(1600kms round trip) with other custom guys and took out various awards including John D'Agostino's Crystal Award.
