    Hello,

Big rear tires and smaller ones in front should make a cool rake for most cars. This Ford truck shows the angle by looking at the running boards from different angles. It definitely is on a rake. Having owned two 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods, one stock and one on a similar lowered rake, the 40s styling just plays right into looking cool.

This mild, but a concentrated look of some aggression, shows up, while moving on down the road with any 1940 Ford front end. The design just slices as it cruises with the streamlined front end set up.

Even with the same size tires and rims, a lowered rake give the sedan, sedan delivery, truck or coupe some at***ude.

As low as our sedan delivery was, small road bumps and dips were slow speed activities when approaching them and driving through them. YRMV

But, the 1940 red Ford pickup truck looks good from either end with the rake angle. YRMV

A proper Hot Rod needs to have some rake to it...

My Victoria (50Fraud) has been on a noticeable rake since it went together in 1997: Screen Shot 2021-03-01 at 7.04.04 PM.png
Last summer we chopped the top and reshaped the rear window area. The rake seemed a little excessive with the new roof line, so we lowered the back just 1":

Seems better proportioned now (some trim is still to be installed).

And our current 34 Chev sedan project.

Might have it done in the coming year as although projects are great, I would prefer to do that "first drive" myself. And I aint getting any younger....

    Hello,

Hot rods with a good looking rake just adds to the style fashionable from the early 50s cars. Despite what is the hot rod, given a rake makes the build have an added composure of being all business and a slight case of “mean-ness.”

So, when I saw this great looking, So Cal's OC, Model A Coupe sitting in a wheel/tire shop parking lot, I could not let it p*** and added the digital photo to our old So Cal hot rod collection.

    Jnaki

Plus, a good show with original American Racing Equipment 5 spoke mags, not those awful oversized wheels it look like wagon wheels. It just speaks hot rod in any language. No outside “lakes" pipes, just a simple powerful SBC motor for reliable, quiet cruising around the coastal highways and byways.

Add in some flames that don’t overpower the overall “rake” look and it is "Showtime and Cruising" in the coastal OC... YRMV
