getting rid of junk (donor) cars in So.CA (L.A.)??

what do you do?
i've p***ed on quite a few donors because i dont know how to dispose of a body, frame and front suspension.

the u-pick-em places wont come get 'em so who do you call?

 

I chopped up a Maverick and slowly disposed of it in my garbage can and dumpsters.

 

got a torch and a pickup? I chop em up for the s**** metal places.....

 

I would imagine if it's not in your name and you left it on the street somewhere, it would dissapear. But you aught to be able to get $50 or so s**** for a shell like that if you drag it to the s**** yard -

 

we'd leave them in front of the junk yard, otherwise you cut it up into little pieces, yummy

 

Theres a place in anaheim off the 91 were all the big rigs take the crushed cars and the little guy in pick up trucks full of appliances go. I know they grind them on site- adams steel sounds right- used to be a pick a part till he made his own private rail yard out of the place.
try 91 and kramer- give em a call to see what paper work if any is needed- i have seen some fairly complete newer cars go into the grinder and anything else they can truck in.

When I was in Texas I wanna say a car had to be in 6 pieces before a s**** yard would take it without a ***le. FWIW.

 

Most of the s**** guys I know would be more than happy to come out and pick up whats left of a car. talk to some local s**** guys get a number and when you strip the car call em up....

They like em rolling but if they have to dismantle them they will...

You could also just dump it in front of the s**** yard but most of those places have cameras and gaurds...

you could also cut out the middle man and drop it off in front of the Chinese Emb***y...

 

Its alot more work but I cut em and take the pieces to the s**** yard too.

I have the same problem here in DSM. I usually just bust out the sawzall and get some s**** metal price out of it. At least it's beer money!

 

cut it into tiny pieces and sell it to the s**** man. now we got a new law that says if they find a junk car and can track it back to you they give you a $3500 fine..in the old days you'd just haul it to the curb and the city would haul it away...they'd get the $ from the s**** company when they were sold at auction as an abandoned car...

 

Look in your local "Bargain Swapper" there should be tons of guys advertising that they will pick up your s**** for free or pay for some of it.

S**** steel is high right now. I know in non-***le states it is rediculous - everyone is cutting eachother's throats to get the junk out there. It's been $90+ a ton in New England Area and I know other places are high.

If you have something without a ***le (and you need a ***le to get rid of it) *ehem - cut it up a few times and spread the ashes
