    Hi all,

wondering if anybody has an info on the different frame dimensions for a ‘40-41 ford pickup versus the ‘46-47. I want to build a “updated” Marmon Herrington truck out of my ‘41. The ‘46-7 ch***is is already set up with parallel leafs and it would be easy to just add some axles. I don’t know how easy it is to convert the early truck sheetmetal to the later. Anybody do this before or have hints for me?

Not easily. The 40/41 truck frame narrows to the front a**** other things, the ‘42-7 is parallel.
But heck, I’d rather see you do that than try an S-10 cluge;)

I have a'38 Ford truck and was thinking of something similar.....it looks like the challenging part is the front frame/fender mounting area as said above. Wheelbase is likely different as well. I haven't dove into that project yet....
Keep us posted on what you find.

Thanks for the replies. This will not be some hillbilly built 4x4, it will look like a factory truck. CJ7 axles have the same track width as the ‘40-‘41’s and have a 5 on 5.4 bolt pattern so I could run 16 inch wheels. Fronts would need to be opens up a bit to clear the hub but it is all doable.
