Recently heard the the American Rebel Halibrand style wheels may be be discontinued soon. That will lessen the choices for that style of wheel. I have been looking at the recent addition to the field, the Holley/Halibrand wheels which look good in pictures but lack some bolt patterns in some sizes. I have used lots of Halibrand wheels in the days when I could take a 150 mile drive and pick them up. Would be a shame if Ameican Rebel quits.

This thread was started back in December of last year, on the new Holley Halibrands. They are made in
China, and the Halibrand marking is at the end of the spoke, versus under the valve stem as in the originals.
Have not heard any negatives, but still pretty new in the market.

I hope the rumor is not true. I have American Rebel wheels on my Cyclone and really like them. I constantly receive compliments on the wheels. When I bought them directly from American Rebel the sales guy was extremely helpful and even offered to send me a sample wheel so I could confirm the correct offset, that kind of customer service is almost unheard of today. I believe that American Rebel also does the casting for
Radir Wheels, hopefully both brands will survive and continue to be made in the USA.

I have put American Rebels on a handful of cars. Very nice folks, nice wheels and made in the United States.

That '64 Merc is a bad mofo, by the way.

I don't doubt Am. Rebels are a superior product, but there's no way they are in my budget. I'll be testing out a set of Holley Chinesium Halibrands in the next year.

Is Holley making American Rebel stop production?

I never heard of American Rebel beforethis thread. Wonder how I missed it. Guess because I haven't read a rod mag for 4 or 5 years and dropped my NSRA membership years ago when the turned it into a VW club.

I bought my aluminum kidney beans 15 years ago from a guy who live in the California desert and made a limited number (200 sticks in my mind) of sets.

20220523_053514.jpg View attachment 5408412 certainly not duplicates of Halibrand, etc - but, Cragar Street Pro 390 C and Weld Rodlites are options for some 20220521_083941.jpg

A friend came up with this pair of steel wheels for my Studebaker , they have the Halibrand look to me ! They are similar to a early Vette wheel. IMG_0287 (2).JPG

903349F8-B919-4713-9B82-1AA6BFB09022.jpeg The stand by “Halibrand” for low buck applications. Believe these are FMCO and not Mopar. Pretty sure Kelsey Hays made very similar wheels for both Corporations…with different style center caps. These are 15”!

They look to be big Lincoln wheels, Continental and Mark’s had 15”, the Versailles used the same wheel but in 14”.

  22. Yes, both companies had them

They change their looks when you grind the wheel weight lip off them.

With a little grinding, or better yet a little work on a big lathe, those 2 rings can be removed. They really aren’t that deep.

Those are different wheels, the one I posted is a one year only 87 Camaro. There are no tabs for a center cap and the wheel has a very shallow front side almost like a positive offset wheel. They are 15 x 6' .
I used some N.O.S. Keystone spyder caps which are held on by the lug nuts.
