Hi, this is very awesome. Can you tell me if your running a hyd. throwout bearing for the clutch. I have no exper. with them & was planning on setting my '40 sedan up with one using a Chevy bell housing & 3-speed. If so, is it relatively simple process?? There is some good info here on the HAMB about throwout bearings and related stuff. If he can't answer it for you do a quick search and a ton of discussions will come up... YES! AWESOME! I agree!!
first off thanks for the nice words. i'm using an external slave bell housing to work the clutch,on the p*** side.chevy has since stop producing the bell housing that i'm am using on this project.it was available on 88-91 chevy trucks with a cast iron 4-speed.you may still be able to find one in a junk yard in your area.i would look for one before you commit to a hyd.throw out bearing.the hyd t.o.bearing can be tricky to setup,but once they are right they work just fine. -danny

Excellent integration of modern components and traditional style. That is going to be one *****'n hot rod.
all the edges are done by hand with a small angle grinder with 3" 3-m rolo-loc 36 grit disks.then i bead blast them to blend out the surface. it's a slow process but i like the finished product when it's done. thank you for the kind words. -danny

hot rod pro?, Did you convert the axle bells to big bearing Ford yourself or did you send them out? From the pics it looks like you did them yourself. Just wondering who you used if you sent them out. I need to do this also.
i did them myself,using new 9"old style big bearing ford ends from currie. there are several shops that can do it.HOT ROD WORKS,DUTCHMAN,my shop(BRUCE'S ROD SHOP),and WILSON WELDING.those are the only shops i have done business with,that i know can do them. hope that helps. -danny
That rear end looks like its using a torsion bar suspension.DO you mind explaing it as I dont understand how it works.
Very nice work, the first thing that cought my eye was all the radiused brackets. That is a real nice detail, gives the pieces a fordged or cast look and not just flame cut out of a chunk of plate. The brake and clutch pedal are a work of art as well as the motor mounts. Thanks so much for sharing your handywork with us.
no i don't mind at all. the bar that looks like it may be a torsion bar is the anti-roll bar,or some call it a swaybar.the car is using a model "a" style rear spring for the suspension.even though this is going to be a roadster i use them to keep the car from squating on one side when you get on the power.and with 550 horses and a 5-speed it will need it. -danny
