    Hello guys.
I want to upgrade my exhaust system.
Right now my COE sounds like
    timthumb (1).jpeg
I want it to sound good.
But also don't want the neighbors to hate me.
I like a deep exhaust tone.
The coe has a 5.7 centerbolt sbc from 99' so it's a roller cam.
    It's all stock..
What would be a good combination.
    Headers etc.?
I can weld the system if anybody has used a kit.
    Thanks in advance.

I’ve always bought the universal bends from speedway. I’m also a smithy guy. My pops has a set on his 40 sedan with a small block and it has a real nice tone.

I went back to my 8" cherry bombs...they're don't sound as bad.
I forgot why I took them off

just made a 2-1/4" dual system from a bend kit for my 70 amc amb***ador with headers . it had a "muffler shop" type system with generic turbo muffs. I used a pair of flowmaster super 50 mufflers and an H style crossover and tailpipes out the back door. im quite pleased with it, it sounds very "muscle car" outside but knocked down the interior resonance inside to where i can have a conversation with a p***enger and not have to shout or crank the radio just to hear it.

  5. On my old 54 I ran factory manifolds, 2" aluminized tubing and 18" aluminized cherry bomb style mufflers that our local exhaust shop sells. It dumped behind the rear wheels. The 350 was stock except for a cam that was a notch hotter than an RV cam. Had a great deep sound but was not obnoxious.

I used the Speedway kit for my 32. I used stainless, but mild steel is cheaper and easier to weld.
I had enough to almost build a second system. Good value

My neighbour has electric cutouts on his BBC and turbo mufflers. It sounds ok with the turbo mufflers but it sounds like a nascar with the cutouts open.
He can cruise for hours to a car show with nice quiet and street legal exhaust, then uncork it with the flip of a switch when he’s ready to show off.

Typical of a guy who owns a “sound alike” who can piss off a lot of other car guys.
