This past weekend the Southeast G***ers hosted the Gene Cromer Memorial race at Shady Side. HRP

Seeing this post reminded me of an art piece I saw at a local diner.

 

The Moonlighter has been repaired since the accident last year and was on display at Shady Side, Ruth, Julie & Robin were there also. HRP

 

I was hoping that Quain might take The Moonlighter down the strip!

What a journey. Much respect goes to the Southeast G***ers for doing what they do.

 

I really hate that I missed this past weekend's tribute to Gene. Family obligations kept me away, otherwise I would have been there. Here are a few photos of Gene and the 'Moonlighter" through the years.

 

To be perfectly honest I really don't know if the car is running or not but it looks like it did before the accident. HRP

Really happy to see it got repaired. Wish Gene was here to see it.

 

Glad to see it was repaired. Now hope it goes in a museum to keep telling Gene’s story and keep his memory alive.

I believe seadog took that photo at Greer Drag Strip, this was when Gene unveiled the Moonlighter after being restored and brought back to the track. HRP

 

Gene was a good man and a talented driver and builder. All these pictures are wonderful!
