Technical Another carb thread. Help

    Thanks everyone the knowledge on all this! Im crossed between the 450 QFT and the Summit. Both pull surprisingly good reviews and seem to fit my driving profile pretty good. Neither were even on my radar.

    Johl…I think either will do just fine. A lot of this depends on the “style” you are looking for. The QF is definitely in the Holley style and many think it’s a racing carb since they started there. A Summit maybe poopoo’d by guys looking at your engine when the hood is up and you my find yourself giving an explanation. When I see a Summit at a car gathering if I see the owner i’ll say “nice carb choice” and always get a thumbs up and a smile….

    If you're driving like Grandma, any will do. I had a friend put a 390 Holley on a 429CJ stroked out to 460 and dropped into a tow truck. Used to kid him all the time about that carb but it served the purpose @ low rpm.
