Event Coverage why do you go to car shows

So, why do you go to car shows? Trophies, visit with friends, brag about your car?
I go to meet new people, see cars I've never seen before and talk about cars.
Many people I see go to visit or get trophies even though they say they don't care.
They want people to notice their car but don't get near it.
They won't drive on gravel or get out if rain is in the forecast.
I just like to drive and have fun.
I don't get having a 500 hp engine and not running it . Go race.
Your thoughts?

I really like some shows a lot ! Very few I don't,only ones that bother me a little ,are the few with high $$ cost too "Enter your car"< an most like that,I do not go too, if that's the case.
Best part can be the trip going an coming.
But it's hard to top the the little kids asking stuff

 

I go to see something different, talk to those who have built their cars and trucks, not just bought what someone else has built, and take photos of engines, interiors, dashes and suspensions that are well designed or thought out. I usually learn something each time.

Sure, that’s no fun, so let’s focus and direct in a positive manner.

I love seeing builds that I haven’t seen before, cars that are FINALLY finished, or the ones just getting started.

I really like seeing everyone’s take on frenching, or nosing, or how much or little the tops get chopped.

Looking for the cars that are the color I’ve been searching for, or with great pinstriping.

All sorts of THAT stuff, I’m not about the trophies or the “other” stuff - I just want to see cool cars.

 

I go to catch up with my friends lives. My shop is a car show I go to every day.

 

I go to see the work performed on the cars, either with the hands or wallets of the owners. Also it can be a great place to get ideas of what looks good and maybe see some examples of what didn't work out. May even get a chance to meet a fellow HAMBer as well.

If I’m having trouble finding parking. I just spread a rumor that a famous hot rod journal is shooting cars for its next calendar at the bar down the street…well it use to work.
…….just kidding, my contribution to the moaners.

 

I keep going, hoping that one day they'll have a Korean massage tent set up.

 

I like hot rods.

 

I go for the family. It's a great little tradition that has been going on for now three generations. The kid I proudly call my little buddy hopefully will carry it on.

 

You missed it, that was last weekend. Unfortunately there was not a happy ending (or beginning). Kim Jong-un was the masseuse.

 

I don’t go, can’t stand them but put those car’s in motion and I’ll pull up a chair or get in line pull over and watch everything go bye then get back in line. But go to an actual car show no thanks.

 

3 words. Cruise in Chicks. Or is that 2 words with a hyphen? Either way, fun to chat up. Doesn't work so well at church parking lots on Saturday morning. More of a Friday evening soiree...with a zesty beverage

 

I like cars
I like car parts.

 

CarCrazy all my life. Shows are part of the hobby I enjoy, I like the car shows/Cruises/ driving my hobby cars in general and most of the people involved. To each their own applies, like them, Go, don't like them, Stay home, not that complicated IMO.

 

Good place to network, find people who may know people who know people.......and telephone numbers

Normally to cut down, criticize, ridicule or generally tell them how it should have been done. Somebody has to do it.

 

Because that's where my people hang out. I see some of them on a regular basis, but mostly at some sort of car gathering. I'm a car guy. I've won trophies, usually "worst looking junk here" or "shouldn't be allowed on the road". If you've watched me put my cars together at all, then you know I don't build show cars. I have zero interest in shiny, fluffy, billet cars. I'm attracted to different and badass. But I usually just go to make fun of all the D spoke American racing wheels
