I had to replace the original studs "9/16 " with 1/2 in ( 70 Charger) because the 9/16 stud left no room for a tapered lug nut.I used early 69ish ford 15x5 front rims with a 3.5 in back space.(Any more back space and the rim would be hitting the tie rod). Also they have the correct 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern while in the rear I got two 15x8 with the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern from summit.
I just came across this thread, look forward an update. I have a 32 PA coupe, my dad bought used in the mid thirties. the brakes were out , they guy made him a deal on it, as he didn't know anything about hydraulic brakes , guess juice brakes weren't that common back then . My dad drove it till the engine gave up, swapped in a studebaker champion 6, when that motor wore so bad it wouldn't hold a set of rings, it got a 265 Chevy and a powerglide from a wrecked 55 Chevy. My mom drove it for 10 years. My brother drove it to high school, abused it and left it parked in the yard . I was given a rusted out 68 Ford Torino from my uncle as donor car for the 302 and C4 .I drove the car to high school with the 302, It still has a 302 and a c4. Guys say, oh your a Ford guy huh. why didn't you put a Chevy in it, Why not a Hemi, why not mopar 318 , 340 . I just shrug and say it just kinda worked out the way it did because that's what I had.
