Question about 1960 F100 front brakes. Will the backing plates and hubs fit on 1940 spindles? I see that the earlier (53-56) F100 components will fit with the Speedway bearing kit. Wondering about the 57-60 F100 stuff? Thx

Yep I tried it. It's not even close. I did pick up a 51 F1 front end. They seem like they'll work.

You can make them fit by cutting out the center of the backing plate and make a new center that fits your spibdles

  6. I think the spindle stub got shorter, and thicker from pictures Ive seen of the 57-60 front end.

I picked up a set of 51 F1 backplates, hubs, drums and the Speedway bearing kit. Hope this will work?

No, if you have a set and the shoes springs and hardware are good, you can put all that on F1 or F100 backing plates. I believe the wheel cylinders with work as well.
