Someone set me straight if I’m wrong, but isn’t Johnny Law and Helix a Hoffman company? With the tilt mechanism known to fail?

And some were the fathers of stupidity. Creativity is one thing but, it does not replace sound engineering which is by no means an easy way out.

Kinda late to the party, but I'd like to add that "the complexities" of adapting a steering wheel to a GM column are not insurmountable.
Granted, this is an original '40 Chrysler wheel and a newer Malibu column, so your situation may be different.
I still have to sort out the horn wiring.

Bottom view w GM hub assembled. There's also a large diameter ring pressed onto the Chrysler wheel to match the outside diameter of the GM upper column (the part that tilts)

As it is right now..... the center disc is a bit off because it's just sitting there; it is not fastened on

Measure up the hub area of the wheel you want, then measure the same from whatever wheel was on the car when you got it for comparison. It's just possible that you can bore out the hub of the wheel you want and "salvage" the splined hub section from the whatever wheel.
Keep in mind you should secure the assembly with 3) 1/4" to 5/16" SHCS; do not depend on a press fit.
You'll have to come up with a way to activate/cancel the turn signals if that is not already there.
And, don't forget the horn function.

Ididit adapted my 62 caddy wheel to their late model gm column. I sent them the wheel and they sent it back ready to bolt on.

You “say never “ posters maybe not be the all knowing , have all the answers you think you are . All I see is a few pissing in the wind and probably have never did anything close . Gatz above just showed one way it could be done!! I had a Lincoln Zephyr steering with a GM hub/spline to mate to a GM column and you couldn’t tell because it wasn’t hack job . Pics are on an old computer so I may see about getting the pics off it to post here. Don’t bother holding my beer. You might spill it. :DGene I never called you lame but don’t go off on giving a holier than thou rant when it can obviously be done. Not everyone’s creativity is a hack job . Quit giving a broad stroke of the brush.

You going to bash gatz now ? If people never created, invented or did what was said can’t be done, this world in general and our hobby would still be in whatever decade your favorite vehicle was from . Come on for Pete’s sake , all the different brands wether GM, Chrysler , Ford etc engineering came up with making steering boxes, steering columns and steering wheels work together so how the heck do you say it can’t be done ? It may take a few pieces of the puzzle to figure it out but it can be done .

And Gene before you bash me again , I am absolutely not all knowing but if I want something different I will give it a shot or three . Two parts of a challenge I enjoy is the analysis of what I want to accomplish and the engineering of the physical with safety in mind. It’s no different then the men on hear that craft a race car for the “salts” from nothing. Not everyone has to build something that simply bolts on to an existing piece because the “factory” engineered it for them .:rolleyes:;)
