Any chance anyone would have a spare driver's side door for a 1947 and older Ford COE??
Or possibly the remains of a door with the upper door hinge intact?
I have a pickup door I could modify if I could find the hinge.

  2. Is the COE hinge different than a PU hinge?

Very different on the upper hinge. It is up in the windshield pillar and has a twist to it. Must be COE only.

  4. To bad, good luck finding one. There seems to be a lot of Ford COE's builders. I wish there were more early Chevy COE parts around, 1939/46. I sure could use better doors.

If you have a look at the builds at "COE Garage" on Facebook, the hinges are all in the lower section of the door - below the beltline. Now these are 'gl*** bodies and that probably explains the need/use of a more traditional hinge BUT they work and they look good and only the trained eye would know they're not stock. When I finally get working on mine I'm going to pursue the issue and probably do something similar since a previous owner seriously butchers the hinge area in the roof pillars. Oh, those guys post in Spanish so unless you parlez the ding-dong you'll be stuck with just the videos.

I have a couple of 41-46 chevy coes and it looks like the doors are the same as pickup with the exception of the front lower hoop that was added. if that hoop is ok on yours I would think you could get away with cutting up a pickup door and welding in the coe part

I just bought a 46 Chevy Coe that was in a fire. I am going to take off all of the usable parts I can. If anyone has anything Coe specific that they need let me know and if I am not going to use it I will part with it.

I will be using both fenders.

The hood is good and it has the Chevy emblem with 3 stainless bars and the stainless Chevrolet bar in usable shape.

I do not plan on using the engine so all engine accessories will be available, it is a 216 I think, but could be a low pressure 235.

    Let me know. Dave

  9. Yea, I think PU doors can be worked to fit the COE's. If I can't find a COE door I plan on trying to re-vamp a PU door. The bottom frame of my drivers door was mostly pretty rotted away & I tried to patch it, I then put new skin up half way. Then I realized that the bottom needed to be leaned in, oops. Now the door goes straight down. I can fix it & re-skin the door. If I don't find a better door I will fix this one.

I have finished dismantling my 46 Chevy Coe and am now listing all the parts I have for sale.

    Steering gear
Entire high pressure 235 engine and transmission to include intake/exhaust manifold
Updraft carb with tubes to and including the oil bath air cleaner
Hood to include all stainless jewelry and the chrome emblem
    Emergency brake handle
The vents on the cab are usable and would cut them out for someone
    Radiator and radiator frame
    Cab grab handle

Thanks again for taking the time to do that! Someone should ****** those inner fender/door jamb pieces and stash them away for the next guy that's got swiss cheese since they are no longer available from Northern....

Yeah Scott, gonna s**** it. Everything is gone except the ch***is with the Flattie in it. Have a guy interested in the Flathead, when it goes and they open the border, we can work something out. PM me and let me know what you need.

  17. The bottom under the door "my mind is blank" sils? are a must if some one wants to turn a PU cab into a COE cab, don't s**** them if it's not to late?

Sills and inner fenders are on their way to Melbourne, AUS. Some other parts to NM, CA, WA, and BC Canada and some to a local builder. Ch***is waiting to go to MT when they stop the Covid circus and open the border. No more parts left except what I need to get off my *** and get put on to my own stalled project.

I'm looking for a 47-53 GMC COE grille surround. The metal panel that surrounds the grille, that has the "GMC" emblem attached to it.

1948 Ford COE gravel pan. Pretty decent shape less some drilled holes and a square cutout. Make me an offer...

Now that I am just about finished with my '56 Ford COE, I find that senility set in and I have a bunch of new and old spare parts, many of them new, that need to be sold. Original ch***is, engine and transmission included.
How I ended up with an extra set of front fenders is beyond me.
I will get a list together and some pictures and post them here, before I list them somewhere else.
    Regards, Mark.

Yep, I have a pair of the stamped steel brackets. One of the top mounting holes is messed up, but easily repaired. Otherwise in good shape. $10 plus shipping from 66227 (Kansas City)

Thought I had spare cast brackets, but if I do, they are burried in a time capsule called my garage. LOL.

Perfect, thanks... If you trip over those time capsule cast brackets I'd be interested in those too...
