Take a look at Astro Van as well. Heavy.

  2. extended cab- short box is 123 1/2"
regular cab- long box is 118" approx.
47 late to 55 early chev pickup is 116 1/2 approx. but the wheels aren't centered in the wheel wells correctly from the factory. Using a 118 centers the wheels and works fine. Pat.

  5. S10 vs. G body depends on what you want in the final package. Front suspensions are almost identical. The G body has a 4 link and tappered coils in the rear. Better ride and handling than the S10, but it intrudes into the bed area. I went with the G-body and narrowed the center(the truck was already channeled) for my M series Stude, mostly for the rear suspension, and I don't care about the loss of bed space. Granted I had it, but that had little to do with it. I bought it knowing eventually it would go under the Stude Scrounging up an S-10 frame would have been easy enough. I've turned down several free ones in the last few years. If your looking for cheap and easy, go with the S-10. It's a very good ch***is. If your into a little more work, and ride and handling are high on your list, and you can live with the loss of bed space, go with the G-body. If you really have NO money to spend, then cobble it together with whatever you have. I also asked lots of questions on this board and others before I did the first nova clip with the orig frame, as well as this swap. Then I turned around and shared what I learned. That's how this board works.
