Only 2 months away folks......who's going?
I plan on driving down in my coupe if gas prices don't go from stupid to insane!

  2. Will be there, I don't think the roadster will be ready but have a ton of friends that need help

?? 91 Octane in my part of Nor-Cal is already at $7.02 at some stations - but, with that in mind each has to prioritize where you will go no matter what.

  6. I will admit, if pricing keeps climbing it may affect my decision to go.

Gas prices have forced my hand on a number of trips this year. Bonneville was gonna be a tight one this year anyway, but gas prices forced me out for good this time. Driving my 39 from VA to the salt wasnt cheap last year. If i did it this year i could probably buy another driving hotrod for the fuel cost alone.

Yep I hear ya......and it's not only gas. Lodging and food(and beer) costs need to be added in.
Still a great road trip though!

The family and I will be there this year for a few days. We'll be on our way back from our cross country road trip.

With the rising costs some may be cancelling reservations. Thinking about seeing if there are any rooms available at this late date. It won't be cheap, but hell, I'm not getting any younger. Just thinking about it right now.

Do it if you can.....who knows, next year the costs may be out of reach. All of the motels in Wendover jack up their rates for speed week, but by Monday there are usually rooms available.
I will have my teardrop camper again this year, staying near the "bend".

I wanna go real bad! Hopefully the General will be ready . I gotta do a clutch and rear main on my 12 valve before I go. The Vanguard hotel , bar and grille will be at the bend.....if the stars align

The "ball field" at the east end of town, across from the auto parts store, looked like a good, sensible place to camp last year. Free, and it even had porta-potties. And, if it rained, it looked like you could get out of there with no sweat.

Yep, the "Bend in the Road". Best bet to park facing the road -- the tow bill will be smaller.

Grandkids are counting remaining school days .
Bones guys are counting how many “Sleeps” before they leave for the Salt.

THANKS! We will be trying to push our current record of 198.503 into the 215 range. Hope all the stars align and the salt is good again. 198 Record.jpg

    For sure?

The Bonneville record for D/Blown Gas (Front Engine) Modified Roadster is 285.
The Bonneville record for D/Blown Gas Street Roadster is 229.

It doesn't seem possible that the Rear Engine would be 50 MPH less that the Front Engine Modified Roadster record.
