Reece Good, very talented bike designer, builder, fabricator, was shot in a senseless drive-by three weeks ago in Kansas City, KS. No reason. Anyway, my daughter, her husband, stricker's auction and about 2500 of reece's closest friends did a benefit in Gardner KS last weekend. They expected--were hoping for--500, 600. Over 2,000 descended on their little pasture. Biker clubs like the El Foresteros, Weasels, Nomads, Gooses were there. The community was there. A lot of great big hearts. People would win an auction item for $500, toss it back into the auction to make more money for Reece. The final amount was impressive. But hospital care for a shooting victim in a coma is a bitch. Not asking for money here, though. He still needs concentrated prayers and good thoughts. Turn your positron on him and crank it to 11. He's still out but drifts in now and then we hear. Some say he understands or shows signs of it. Maybe progress. Only asking for good thoughts for this fine young man, and his family. It helps. He needs to get back to the world and know about all the people who care about him. And back to building kickass scooters. There are a couple guys on the board who know him and they would tell you this guy is special.
Sad to here. Stickers are good people. I grew up going to their auctions, and watching my grandpa horse trade in and out of tractors.
Yes. If you google Reece Good, it'll tell you the details on the Reece Good Live To Ride Fund maintained by the Gardner Bank in Gardner, KS and how to contribute by mail. You'll also get the latest on the investigation, which, I'm afraid, isn't much news.
