for a '56 Fairlane? Not sure if it's been discussed here before. But I'm looking to put one in mine. Prefer a "pusher" front mount dual fan in front of the stock radiator. I looked around, there seems lots of them available but just wondering if anyone has had any experience with kits, brands etc. Thx.

From what I've read, pusher fans are more inefficient than pullers. There are many thin puller fans for limited spaces. I have a Cooling Components puller on my flathead. It is built into a shroud and the car never runs above the switch set point.

Is there a reason for not using a stock mechanical?

racerron…If it’s a space problem because you swapped engines if would be nice to know before some of us make suggestions with stock or electric fans. There are many of us who fought different problems with cooling and space..

I have a pusher in my V8 Pinto because there is no room but when you look at pusher specs non of them flow as much as a puller fan. I only use Spal, they last forever, they also make a 16" pusher that should fit.

I am using a Spal 16" in my car, a pusher and it works fine on those instances where I'm at a crawl or stopped. I bought the whole kit on eBay, a better deal than Summit had. It came with the mount kit, relay, temperature sensor, etc.

Two thumbs on on Cooling Components, thin, quiet and cools my Big Block all day in 100 degree heat zero issues. (no other fan installed).

To add, there is several junk yard fans that could work and move a ton of air. Taurus, Contour and Lincoln Mk 8. Youtube is a great source for information on this topic.
