Hey Everybody! I'm back from the backwoods of Nevada. Actually, I've been back for a couple weeks, but I didn't have pictures of the summer progress and I know that nobody wants to read a bunch of text with no pictures so here goes.First, my dad, friend jason and I went to paso and met up with the other road rockets. Got to see some really cool cars, do a little striping and meet a few hambers (jetfuel,slazzen,germ...and many others). Then, when we got home, we lowered the stude, painted the orange wheels black and put some bias whites on it (G78 in front and L78s in back)Yeah, I know I'm a trendy *****, but I like it. Next my pop and I went to the International Studebaker Driver's Club Meet in Sacromento. It was fun...but not like Paso. Then when we got home from that we put flames on my dad's 53 chevy pickup Its a bad *** little truck with a 270 jimmy. We got it done just in time for a little show in carson city that we went to. A couple friends came down from Nor Cal for that one and I got to cruise in the sickest 53 merc alive (got to stripe it too!!) After that, I did some work on my 55 post so I could sell it at Hot August Nights. I couldn't even get $1000 for it... Oh well. I'll throw this picture in cause it makes my house look like really cool place with lot of hot rods. We flew back to texas for the Road Rockets party too, it was ****in rad...it will be even better next year. Finally, my dad and I made the trip all the way back to Lubbock for another year of school. I'm sure some of you will be sad to find out that my car is now a trailer queen That is what the term means...right? Anyway, that was my summer, I had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool people. My dad is goin to billet proof in the 53 pickup, so if you see an older fella with a grey goatee, probably sportin a ball cap, drivin a red oxide, flamed and pinstriped 53 chevy pickup...say hey to him, he's a lot of fun, just ask aintlackin, flat top bob or nailheadmerc. Jake
"How I spent my Summer Vacation........" Great job Jake! The wagon is off the hook. Very unique, fresh approach and functional. I love it!! How did the SDC crowd treat you? The first time I attended a Keystone Region swap meet/show in York, PA, I was worried about how they would react with our chopped '55. They LOVED it! I traded all the chrome I had removed for a set of NOS taillight lenses in the box. I took them straight home and drilled them out and installed blue dots. Bet he would have **** had he known that. Good luck with the coming school year. Remember why you're there (NO, not to party!)
Great story and pix,Jake. Thanks for sharing your summer. Being from the NE and being a kid in the days of Hopalong C***idy and Ken Maynard,I really dig your house and the view it has. Good luck at school.Oh,and that Stude rocks !!!!!
