That is a beautiful estate, would sell for 6 million in So Cal. Doesn't look like it needs any fixing up. Great historic mansion and should be registered as such. It probably is on the register. Does the T model go with it?

The Boston Edison district in Detroit is a pretty decent area, violent crime stats are below average nationwide, vehicle theft is higher. Park in the garage, I’m sure the place has a security system. If your into sports, all the main sporting venues are pretty close.

If the T goes with the property, don't worry about it being stolen. 95% of the living don't know how to drive one, me included.

That is absolutely insane, $975,000.00? That home should be in the Millions.

I have been inside this home on a few occasions. The owner, Jerald Mitchell, did a fabulous job of restoring this house and keeping it as authentic as possible. He is also the main person responsible for saving Ford's Piquette Factory (the place where the Model T was born). He has genuinely contributed a lot to saving Detroit's past.

By the way, this house is located in a safe neighborhood. Many of the neighboring homes are also historic mansions and most were once owned by other automotive pioneers or those once connected with the auto industry. It is a beautiful and historically significant neighborhood that is extremely well maintained.

I'm surprised it's not maintained by some foundation as a museum.

  16. That place is beautiful. The fine print should read: not available to People who drive brands other than Ford Motor Company products! Lol!! If I bought the place, I’d have to buy and restore an olde Ford garden tractor to take care of the gr*** with.

Boston Edison neighborhood of Detroit housed many of the early Automotive Barons, Fisher Bros, Leland Cadillac, Fords main guy Sorensen, a**** others, also Berry Gordy. If you ever get to the Piquette Plant there’s an aerial view of that neighborhood and all of those homes are listed.

My parents had friends that lived there in the 70’s. Their sons playhouse was a full size apartment above the carriage house.

    It’s beautiful during Christmas

The 975k price is what the median home sells for in San Diego. Pretty incredible home and it's 7200 square feet.

I wonder if the furniture comes with it? Wouldn't be cheap to source period correct furniture and you sure as hell don't want a bunch of **** from IKEA to replace it with.

I agree it should be in some sort of museum status or a trust that can maintain it. I am surprised it isn't already in that status.

The Property Tax is just the beginning of the monthly costs. Let's add to that the Utilities, Insurance, Grounds Keeping, Maintenance, Winter Heating costs etc. Still, it is a beautiful home. With me being in the building trades for some 50 years, I would love to see some ba*****t pictures. I'm weird like that...
