This project started with a passenger door. Cowl and most of the roof are from a four door sedan. Took a few years to get all the parts - the hardest to find were the five window B pillars. Slowly but surely it will come together. IMG_3213.jpg

Those look like great bodies. Would fix them without hesitation. And I'm not a body man.

It took a lot of work but both ended up as finished hot rods. The point of this thread is to get those 33-34 Ford coupe bodies out of hiding and back on the road. So if you have a coupe body sitting in the barn or basement, get on it! Let's see some pics.

Another 34 five window coupe showed up in my garage this spring - now have two coupe projects to keep me going. Retiring soon so will have more time to spend in the garage. The pic shows the body shell - yes needs a floor. Came with a lot of other parts and I have since acquired a floor from the remains of a four door sedan. 248.jpg

Here is another under construction 34 coupe that I came across recently. It had a previous life as a chopped hotrod but is being returned back to 126.jpg 127.jpg stock height by the current owner.

I know this is a 33-34 thread but I’ve been building a 30-31 model a coupe. After I get that done I’d love to build a 33-34 ford 5 window with an aggressive chop….. it just sucks now a days they are so far out of reach for a youngster like me to get my hands on

Read up on some of the guys converting 4 door sedans into 5 window coupes. Rough 4 door sedans are still available and not too expensive, and if you're good at metalworking, it's not too tough to convert one. It's a route worth exploring if you want to get into a steel body on a tight budget. I did a '33 but sold it before finishing as I found a better '34 body to work with. Honestly, an aggressive chop on a 5W is probably more metalwork than the coupe conversion is.

Done more work on the coupe shown in post 1141 - building the body entirely from parts. Slowly coming together. 20240310_102803.jpg

Installing the w/s frame, hinges and winding mechanism in the coupe project. They didn't have a/c back in the day, so the w/s opens up to allow cool air in. 20240506_095722.jpg 20240506_095742.jpg
