First chance to get out to a car gathering in town. Lots of car stuff coming up as I think everyone is jacked to do stuff with Covid waning. Not a lot of great cars to look at but a few. The 51 Pontiac was a cool car. It's a US car so is actually a Catalina not a Chieftain. Chatted with the owner for a while and learned quite a bit about the car. Many of the Chieftain parts won't fit on it, even stuff like rubber seals.
...Stittsville, On...a few hours ago...went to my first Cruise of the year...I didn't take any pics because of too much blah blah, blah...blah, blah, blah, blah... I did however meet Hambers @Ziggster and @Phil P there...Phil showed up in his freshly unfinished and proud of it 3x2 bowtie powered 30 Ford Coupe... It made my day to see them... The Ole Hotrod ran simply marvelously...only 90 bucks to fill it......but the pain goes away once I press the pedal...
Had my son shoot a vid letting the coupe breath a little. The joy of bias plys with 409 power, she was actually breaking the tires loose on that little curve. We’re all just kids with big toys! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CecOGFljO3v/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
NATIONAL HOT ROD DAY ...... so I burnt rubber and gas in all three today .... ahhh it felt good .‼️‼️
Always a fun event, we attended the Cache Creek Graffiti Days on Saturday. About a 45 minute cruise from our town, they put on a great event with drag racing, poker run, cruise through the town and Ashcroft which is another little town 5 minutes from Cache Creek and then the car show. Just under 200 cars for the show with a good mix of hamb friendly and muscle cars etc.
Chilliwack 450+ cars. 94 F Very rare 1958 Meteor Courier with 57 Fenders. 59 Wagon with Coyote power. Beauty Merc. Real Hot Rods. T/F
Happy Canada Day you bacon eaters!! Anyone driving their hot rods today?? Already got a cruise in this morning cuz she's gonna be hot here today! Let's see some Canadian bacon!
...Getting Out...Seeing old friends...feels good...I thought this an interesting aligning of sorts...Hotrod/Custom & Vintage Truckin'... In typical fashion I lose all the draws and everyone around me won......but the drive home rocked...
I had the pleasure of attending a gathering of the cars and trucks that are doing the 2022 Cross Canada Tour. They dipped their wheels in the Atlantic Ocean at Cupids, NL. The black 52 Chev is mine, not on the tour.
One of the guys from our local chapter to the VCCC is on that tour but I’m not sure what he’s driving?
Nice to see all the posts gents. We gotta keep flooding the ol Hamber with great Canadian bacon content. All the boys down south need us! Rolled over 5600 miles on the ol odometer on this mornings cruise. Should be more if not for a few of the summers we've had with the fires etc but still 5600 miles of fun!
And then on the way back from Hope a stop at the local saloon in Agassiz where we picked up a straggler from Alberta with a twin turbo hemi T
Some...others not so much...kinda like your way...I just don't take pictures...not everyone looks back in time for inspiration...but that's their perogative... ...again everyone floats to their own boat but I typically am overwhelmed by modern builds and that is one of the reasons I spend time at the Hamb...The Green A is one I was happy to see but again modern, trick, billet radials are standard fare... Like Creemore Springs slogan..."100 years behind the times and proud of it", I share a similar outlook, just mines a Hotrod built in inspiration to somewhere in the 1963 period...
There are about 60 cars and trucks on the tour and I took pics of all of them, but unsure if I should post any post 65.
My friend passed away and a group of us have been completing his car so that it can be sold. Only a couple of more things to do now. Anyway last weekend I drove his wife in it to the Edmonton Street Rod Association show n shine. Out of about 400 cars, she ended up getting this little award and was quite thrilled.. The car now has 70 km on it.
