Projects 1962 Biscayne Jr Stocker for the Street Build

    I got some new rear springs with the car that I know nothing about. They are the same length as the originals but they have one more coil and the wire is .060 thicker. Guess I'll throw them in and see how she sits. Who doesn't like a surprise:).

    Blasted and painted a few rear suspension parts and found a great deal on some NOS Southside Machine lower control arms on FB Marketplace

    Station wagon/ambulance rear springs are great. You are doing 2 upper control arms right? Reinforce the frame bracket to front upper control arm or you’ll rip them apart. Don’t ask me how I know.

    Worked on adding the Left Upper Control Arm Bracket and the Frame Supports today. Held the left support in place to get an approximate right to left location where it would best fit the frame (more on that later). Put the left control arm bracket in place using a piece of 5/8's all thread to achieve a parallel with the original right control arm bracket. Marked and drilled. The weld tabs on the supports do not fit the frame for shit so I'm going to add shims or bend the brackets or both:mad:. Then I wasted some time harvesting rattle can marbles:).

    Well Guys, I got sidetracked by a 32 Plymouth Sedan. Last thing I needed was another car but it was a deal I couldn't pass up. It's a great base to work with but someone got ahold of it in the 80's. Fortunately it can be brought back to the 60's with mostly bolt-ons. I started a thread on taking her back to the 60's. Picture is about all I can show you for now. Color looks like 57 Chevy Dusty Rose.

    Ah Hell, just post some pics and see what happens. It better to seek forgiveness than ask permission. Besides, you're asking for opinions on how to make it right with the HAMB world! Give it a shot... :cool::cool::cool: It's not cool to tease us like that, anyway! :D

    Not gonna happen. I made a promise to myself to get the 62 up and running this year.
    Just gonna get the Plymouth up and running without getting to OCD about it. Safety, fluids, and go. Might do a couple bolt-on's like wheels and such to make it HAMB friendly so I can start a thread about it.

    Not much to report on the Biscayne. I've been busy working on my 32 Plymouth and my other projects. I did make some progress. I got a lead and scored some hard to find Rocker Molding's and the RF Inner Fender that I've been looking for forever. The moldings aren't great but they can be worked (another project:)). I know they repop the inner fenders but I really wanted OE and this one is nice.

    Ooooo, a trans brake! I’m a good guesser, I guess? Hope you have plans for a Dana 60 because that’s the only rear end ive ever seen live behind a brake. Solid u joints help also along with a u joint girdle on the pinion yoke. Along with a 3” diameter drive shaft.

    I've been tied up with other projects and I'm going to be for the foreseeable future. Today, I broke away and cleaned and painted the rear end housing for stage 1 of this project. My go-to has always been semi-gloss black Rustoleum right on clean metal. I decided to splurge :) and use the primer that Anthony Myrick and a few others have suggested.

    The post about "build threads going cold" got me to thinking I should post something. I haven't had much garage time lately and what I have had has been shared with my 32 Plymouth project.
    Ok, the 62...I've got everything ready to put the rear suspension together. Picked up an UMI adjustable panhard bar. Nice piece, adjustable, has grease fittings, and by the time I'd get the old one blasted and put bushings in it, it's cost effective. Then there is the "made in the USA thing"
    Started the overhaul of a center section I aquired. The ring and pinion was no good but I have 4.10's for it.
