Hey Jack, nothing wrong with being a showoff if you have the juice to back it up,
and you certainly do. The few times I fooled with your (t-shirt) designs, with your
okay, it was only to clean up those old drawings and present them in a more artful
way i.e. eliminate spots, maybe put a border aound them. Your shirt designs are
something to be appreciated.

I brought up the question because there are many threads that the "snapshots" would
fit well in. I'd like to see the great artwork here presented as artwork. "ART SHOW",
you dig? Maybe I'm spoiled because I have access to one of the great art displays
in the world, The Chicago Art Intitute. Presentation means a lot, at least to me.

 

I'll repeat myself here. I was the one that threw in the bogus late model Corvette
photo, thinking art should be art. Some mod, I do not know who, took exception
to it, deleted it and notified me of his/her decision. I certainly don't believe the
entire thread was pulled because of one law breaker (me). I'd say it was a mistake
on someone's part and that someone has failed to make an appearance. I've been
spanked enough, invited to leave the site and spoken to in a very discourteous way,
by powers-that-be. I'm trying to avoid that happening again

 

I am sure that my contribution of the vintage steam powered fire apparatus from the FDNY with the American flags waving in the breeze, didn't help the situation either. I figured that with the element of the 4th of July, there would be a bit more leeway in the realm of patriotic empathy.

That being said, I am totally comfortable with the status quo of @57 Corvette ~ Bob starting the weekly FAS at 9:00 PM pacific time, on Thursday evenings.

I seriously doubt that the moderators, are interested in being the custodians of this great weekly thread.

I agree. 57CorvetteBob starts each Friday on a high note and Jigger is often right
behind. This thread will not unravel without the interjection of a moderator. I'm
of the thought that a fire engine, an airplane or locomotive, all transportation
related, can fit well into the FAS. I just want to see any subject presented as an
art piece, and that can be as simple as a slight border around the subject.

4:10 pm on Saturday. This weeks show has about run its course.

If you look back at the history of Friday Art Shows on the Hamb there has been a Plethora of openers...I appreciate everyone who puts forth an effort to get the ball rolling and yes @57 Corvette ~ Bob has been a pretty steady starter as of late but truly I am okay with anyone opening but they must make an effort to see if it has already been started with a search so there are not conflicting Threads...that is really a prerequisite to any Thread posted...DO a Search...Thanks to all that have took the liberty to start this fun Thread over the years...

While presentation of work is appreciated I don't want to discourage member involvement as many here have an incredible hand or eye that despite a lack of a formal presentation may still resonate the greatness beyond that level of display...

I don't think any Art Threads are truly ever closed unless it is in fact closed and many were back in the day...I believe that may have been bandwith related...

...I recently was chatting with Runnin and he let me know how much he appreciates the Inspirations of the Hubba Hubba and has acquired a vintage Helmet and even a couple more for the kids...and some of the inspiration may grace the shells to boot...how cool is that...

I'm ALWAYS flattered when someone finds a use for my old artwork and "plays" with it. That's why I always offer it up "free for use" to anyone that can use it. Thanks @Stogy @quick85 @2NDCHANCE and others for bringing my old stuff back to life.
