My next car will be a CW Components 34 5 window built Bonneville style. Body being built right now - should be ready for me to pick up in approx 8 weeks. Glen 285685621_4930654103727137_1017958298414891480_n.jpg 285713947_4930653353727212_5413307824824890341_n (1).jpg

My '34. Originally built in the late '70's, called "Fly'n Flathead". Purple, featured in SR in '80 or '81. In Lexington KY now. 28468709_10216332675932154_3946276551140649998_n-2.jpg

  8. Thanks, it's a fun car. I'd like to take credit for making the Nerf Bars, but in reality I got them off of an e-Bay listing many years ago. Haven't seen them listed for quite awhile.

  9. Had a chance to buy that when Jeff finally sold it. Was a great car. CJ sold Arden the frame for that car. Arden was a great guy. He drove the wheels off that thing.

I really like this post. I think people are more likely to take risks and build more unique cars from glass.

I know I've said this before but Arden really was a nice man.
My high school mate introduced me first to Jeff about 1971, I remember being in awe of his 38 Chevy coupe, then I saw it in the Portland Roadster Show and it was such a beauty under the lights, then met Jim and saw the cars he trimmed, thought I had met greatness.
I put some seat time in the 34, quite a fun car, drove it a bit on a Pleasanton trip, it was a very traditionally built car and so nicely finished that people didn't know it was a glass car, the chassis was built by Jim Meyer, drove just like an old hot rod should.

  12. Yep, it was a well built car that most would think was a steel car as it was so well done. I remember watching Ardun run the thing at Woodburn and showing all the young people a thing or two, lol. Jeff does pretty good with his little glass Vicky now at Woodburn.

Jim was a great guy as well. Always loved seeing him driving around in the 34 5 window he had in any weather. He did the upholstery on Taboo when we redid the car. It was the second to last car he did before the cancer finally got him. He was a great guy as well.

Our 34 Wescott with 40 Ford dash. 38 Truck grill gives it a little differwent look that at first I wasnt a great fan of but it has grown on me. roadster34.jpg Its going through a bit of a redo at the moment after the 59AB decided to mix water and exhaust. 8BA is going back in its place. Came out of Oregon and was at the LA roadster show before making the trip out east. roadster.jpg

It's been four years since my last entry here. Cars running, brakes, some wiring. It's fast too. PXL_20231012_210005134.jpg PXL_20231012_205954190.jpg
