I think you have your words mixed up. That's not 'procrastination'.......... that's 'admirable'.

Nice, can you get scratch in the shift to second?
... and it won't be as likely to be stolen by someone young enough not to have a drivers license...

Automatics are way more efficient but man, they just lack soul. Stick cars make you feel the whole hot rod experience.

My wife says I am just like my dog, Abbey can't decide whether to chase the rabbit or the squirrel, so she sits on the deck and waits to see which one gets closer! lol Larry

    Procrastination.
Exact reason I have buildings full of crap I’m meaning to sell but haven’t and don’t have a car to drive.
Here I sit reading the HAMB.

  10. Mark, I think you need to drive it to Salina to show all of us what you did. :)

Always look for the positive justification. Old hot rodders need all the cardio-vascular exercise we can get, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't pass off an auto transmission as an 'exercise machine'.....

  16. Who says a stick shift doesn't belong in a bigger car? My all time favorite memories of new cars was when you could go to a showroom and see Impalas, Galaxies, Polaras, and Bonnevilles with a proper 4 speed shifter sticking out of the floor and three pedals. Have had more than one BIG car with a big block and a stick and that makes them much more fun! Watching old drag racing film from 63/64 really gets my crank turning! Sticks forever!!!!!

  19. Back in the old days I had a '62 Grand Prix with a 4 speed. Couldn't imagine it with an auto.

I swapped out the cast iron powerglide in my '58, at about 17 years old. Took out all the bolts and couldn't budge it. Chained the tailshaft to another car. Wham!, onto the ground it went.

I took my 36 apart in 2004 when I built my shop. Enough said.

  22. When I sold my '34 with a muncie, the buyer said it was exactly the car he was looking for. A week later he had some guy put an automatic in it. Go figure....

Cast iron power glides work great! Had one sitting in the parts room, put it in the back of my Ram Charger plow truck. That thing never got stuck after that! lol And if I could come up with the clutch pedals and linkage to fit My 64 Marauder for less than an arm and a leg, I have a couple extra top loaders with her name on it!

Sure, maybe you only get 10% of stuff done in 90% of the available time, but a proper procrastinator always gets all the shit done at the last minute. If you can't achieve this you are just lazy and unreliable.....:D
